Springview is a conservation-oriented community with 80 percent of preserved open space. Rodgers Consultings green strategies included: Open space preservation achieved through development rights purchase, clustering and scenic vista mapping; historic spring, trail system and portions of the underground railroad system, as well as the surrounding agrarian scenic vista protected; the use of conservation easements and green space conservancy to permanently protect open space; reduced impervious surfaces through smaller footprints, narrower streets, judicious use of sidewalks and reduced setbacks; open section roads, grass swales and natural sheet flow of drainage to reduce storm water impacts; strategic forest and tree preservation.
