At Rodgers Consulting’s annual meeting and holiday celebration at the BlackRock Center for the Arts, Erin Burrows was presented the Joseph C. Rodgers Community Service Award. This past year, for her Passion Pursuit, Erin enlisted the participation of other professional women at Rodgers and created a scholarship award to assist young women from two local high schools in their goals of higher education in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. Women have been historically underrepresented in the STEM professions, and while Rodgers strives to attract and retain talented women, the fact is there are fewer women than men with adequate training and qualifications. By providing additional resources and support to high school seniors, this initiative by Erin will help develop young women into talented professionals in the future and help bridge this gap. Nancy Floreen, President of the Montgomery County Council, presented this award to Erin.
