Rodgers Consulting, in collaboration with DPZ Architects, assisted Joe Alfandre in creating one of the most significant village infill projects in the Washington, DC metropolitan region. Wyndcrest is a seamless extension of the rural crossroads community of Ashton, Maryland, located approximately 15 miles north of Washington. The six acre site included four existing buildings, one historic house, two cottages and one outbuilding. All of these structures were preserved and integrated into the fabric of the new community.
Wyndcrest has been featured in national publications such as Builder Magazine, and was the cover story in “Building Greener Neighborhoods”- an NAHB and American Forests publication. We are proud to be recognized as forward thinking, industry leaders by the award of the first-ever Smart Growth award from Governor Parris Glendening and the Maryland Economic Growth, Resource Protection, and Planning Commission in 1996. The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission also recognized this community with its highest honors in 1994.
